Welcome to Coach Maria’s Monday Minute. There is so much talk about deteriorating health during the last six months. You can call it “gaining the COVID-19” (or more), if you’d like or the “I fell off my diet and exercise bandwagon”. Regardless of what you call it, you may find yourself in a situation where you’ve just let yourself go.
Last week, a friend offered to share her health strategy with a group of us. I’m always interested in hearing how people are taking their health and nutrition back. I was immediately fascinated by what she would share because she’s quite literally one of the strongest people I know.
A bunch of us hopped on a Zoom call and she explained the program she followed and some sample meals. I’m sure many of you are wondering the name of the program, but it’s irrelevant. What I consider the most important part of her presentation is the translation of her strategy into execution. She took the following steps:
Researched a program that she thought would work for her
Played with the strategy for a period of time to see if it was sustainable for her
Went all in to meet her goals
Stuck with the program and is still using it now (18 months later)
My point is this - and it applies to weight loss, strength training, and everyday life. You have to find what is sustainable for you and DO IT.
